Suedalp
Founded in 2012, Suedalp proudly holds the title of being the first medieval full-contact fighting club in Ticino and Switzerland. Originally known as FIMM ELFAR until 2015, the group transitioned to focus more intensively on the sporting aspects of medieval combat, adopting the name Suedalp to signify this evolution.
With a reputation built through consistent international competition and appearances at numerous European tournaments, Suedalp emphasizes rigorous training and authentic historical accuracy. Their dedication extends beyond the arena into experimental archaeology and historical reenactment, meticulously recreating armor, weaponry, clothing, and even entire camps based on historical references from the late 14th and early 15th centuries.
Based in Quartino, Ticino, Suedalp offers regular training sessions, including armored combat and modern “soft combat” practices, to prepare their fighters physically and mentally. The club actively seeks new members, welcoming men and women eager to experience medieval combat firsthand.
Known for their disciplined yet welcoming atmosphere, Suedalp continues to grow the sport locally and internationally, proudly representing Switzerland at global competitions.
