On May 10–11, 2025, Magna Carta proudly brings back Giostra di Giovanni to the historic Tuscan shores of Livorno. Following its triumphant debut last year, which captivated both spectators and fighters, this year’s tournament promises to be even grander—a true spectacle of medieval valor that will unite warriors and enthusiasts from across the world.

A Tournament Like No Other

Giostra di Giovanni is not just another medieval combat event. It stands at the intersection of historical tradition and full-contact medieval combat, merging the grandeur of medieval pageantry with the raw intensity of battle.

This year, the tournament raises the stakes, introducing prizes for the victors, ensuring that every fight is not only a display of skill but also a battle worth winning. The main combat formats will focus on:

• 12v12 grand melees – a test of tactical prowess and team strategy, shifting away from smaller-scale fights in favor of larger, more epic clashes.

• The all-vs-all mass battle – a chaotic and thrilling free-for-all where alliances shift, and only the strongest endure.

• The Full-Plate Armour Tournament – a new addition where knights clad in historically accurate plate armor will duel in individual combat, showcasing technique, endurance, and martial prowess.
