San Giorgio
Founded as Italy’s first medieval combat team in 2012, San Giorgio quickly became a symbol of pride, uniting skilled fighters from across the country. With roots deeply anchored in Genoa’s medieval heritage, the team’s name honors the historic traditions of the city, maintaining its headquarters in the heart of Genoa’s medieval district.
San Giorgio’s athletes compete across various categories of medieval combat sports, from fierce buhurt battles to technical duels. While they have consistently earned medals domestically, their greatest achievements came on the international stage—most notably reaching the round of 16 at the 2017 Battle of the Nations in Barcelona, marking the best historical result among Italian teams, and winning awards for outstanding performance.
Today, San Giorgio continues to inspire passion for medieval combat, welcoming seasoned warriors and newcomers alike to share the thrill of battle and the spirit of brotherhood.
